In the Community
GIving back has always been a priority for Radiant Heart. We actively support local and regional pet rescue organizations by donating money, goods & services and our time.
At Radiant Heart we believe that giving back to our community should be a fundamental part of how we operate, and we do this in a number of ways including (but not limited to):
- We donate products and services for silent auctions held to benefit a wide variety of non-profit organizations, and specifically those that promote pet rescue.
- We donate blankets to local veterinary service providers and animal rescue groups.
- We financially sponsor multiple Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) events each year.
- During the pandemic, we created the Radiant Heart Pet Loss Support page on Facebook.
- In the past, several staff members volunteered to be facilitators for the WHS Pet Loss Support Group, and we continue to donate coloring books that deal with pet loss for children.
- We organize and sponsor our annual Floating Lantern Pet Memorial. Proceeds from this event have raised funds for WHS, Happy Tails Happy Homes and Old Dog Haven. The event itself is healing, bringing together pet parents from our community.
- Radiant Heart also proudly offers free communal cremation for any foster pet from any all-volunteer 501c3 animal rescue. Whatcom Feline Alliance, Alternative Humane Society, Sassy Cats and Happy Tails, Happy Homes are some of the groups that have benefited from this service.
- To support the men and women who work at WHS, we offer a 50% discount for the cremation for their personal pets.
